his last fall wedding     bells were ringing as our Creative Director, Skyler Vander Molen was preparing to marry his soon-to-be-new-wife, Allie. As they started planning for the wedding, they quickly realized none of the wedding websites out there were going to work for what they wanted. They were all too cluttered and didn't offer the functionality or the look they wanted.

The theme of the wedding was vintage travel and it needed to be done on a budget. Allie and Skyler both love to travel and like well made old stuff. So for their invites, we bought some old postcards on eBay, made a stamp and printed them on the postcards.

Total cost for the invitations: ~$30.

In order to save on return envelopes and stamps for the RSVPs we had guests RSVP electronically through the website. To facilitate the managing of the guest list, we built a simple CMS that would allow the happy couple to approve guests, modify the list as needed and print a list of everyone attending as the wedding day got closer. Guests could also see who was coming and how many people they were bringing. The site and emails then followed the same theme and style as the invitations.

Next we created two email templates: one to be sent out confirming a guests RSVP and the second to be sent out a few days before the wedding with all the pertinent info guests would need for the day of the event. Any time someone would RSVP, their name and email would go into the email database and they would be automatically notified of any important announcements or changes
